The Megger PRIMEON Cable Test Van is a fully integrated platform for cable fault location, testing and diagnostics. It automates complex testing procedures through a central control unit. As a result, engineers can locate faults faster while improving safety and operational efficiency.
PRIMEON combines DC testing, insulation resistance testing, Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR), Arc Reflection Method (ARM), ICE, Decay, burning and surge testing in one system. In addition, optional modules integrate VLF cable testing, TanDelta diagnostics and partial discharge diagnostics. This creates a comprehensive solution for medium-voltage cable maintenance.
The integrated Teleflex® RDR accurately pre-locates cable faults over distances up to 320 km. The optional Teleflex Unleashed upgrade extends the measuring range to 1,280 km. Furthermore, the built-in 2,000 J surge generator pinpoints cable faults quickly. The high-frequency burner also assists with fault conversion before final location.
Safety remains central to the PRIMEON design. The system continuously monitors operating conditions and automatically discharges and earths the circuit during power loss. It also includes integrated safety interlocks, emergency stop functions and live system monitoring. Consequently, it protects both operators and equipment. The intuitive multi-touch interface further simplifies operation and reduces training time.
