Key Features:
The Fluke SB140 SoundBeacon™ simplifies leak detection and tightness testing in non-pressurised spaces. Fluke designed this portable ultrasonic beacon to work with Fluke Acoustic Imagers, helping technicians quickly locate leaks in vehicles, aircraft, buildings, cleanrooms, and industrial compartments.
The SoundBeacon™ operates by emitting a 40 kHz ultrasonic signal from inside the enclosure under test. As a result, escaping sound travels through leak paths such as seals, welds, windows, hatches, and gaskets, allowing technicians to identify leak locations visually with an acoustic imager.
Unlike traditional leak testing methods, the SB140 does not require system pressurisation. In addition, it reduces inspection time and simplifies testing in applications where conventional techniques are difficult or impractical.
When used with Fluke Acoustic Imagers in Beacon Mode, the camera automatically centres its frequency filter on 40 kHz. Therefore, users can detect leak paths faster and with greater confidence.
The compact aluminium housing weighs only 175 g, including the battery. Furthermore, the supplied 9 V battery delivers more than 300 hours of operation, making the device suitable for extended inspection programmes.
The SB140 supports a wide range of industries, including automotive, aviation, construction, maritime, cleanroom, and manufacturing applications. Consequently, it provides a practical solution for quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and preventative maintenance.
With ultrasonic leak detection, simple operation, and compatibility with Fluke Acoustic Imagers, the Fluke SB140 SoundBeacon™ offers a fast and effective method for locating leaks and verifying enclosure integrity.
